Update 12 – F.H. – Hard Plastic – You can use Forgotten Halls on any existing terrain!

Hi everyone!

In our previous article we showed you how you can use Forgotten Halls to create rooms, corridors, towers, etc, without using our Dynamic Floors of 100x100x10mm. It was however with a “3D Bases” Stone Slabs floor, which creates a perfect floor for our building, and thus, you didn’t need to use any of our FH floors, for obvious reasons.
However, we are showing you now how you can use any kind of terrain already in your possession and still use perfectly our FH range.

Let’s use indeed a terrain base, like our “Rough Terrain – 3D Bases”. This terrain represents a mix of earth, little stones, etc classical to outdoors terrains.
With this terrain, you can’t use add apparently our FH walls to create a building, since you would be missing the stone floor and it wouldn’t look as good as it should.
However, there is a very easy solution “built-in FH”, which we are showing you now. 🙂

This step by step images show you how to create a perfect stone floor for the FH building, while keeping the overall result perfect.
The floors we are using are already existing in FH, and fit perfectly our structures.
We are also adding our covers under our walls, this time, to make the floors underneath fit perfectly. The same covers are added on the top of the walls to build up more floors, here, about the tower.

The overall result, as you can see, is great!
We have a full tower with its ground floor fully integrated with the Rough Terrain used as base.
We could continue, with the same floors, to build more floors of the same tower, or build another structure nearby. It’s just one of the multiple, and endless, potentialities of our FH modular system.

Update 11 – Forgotten Halls – Hard Plastic – Fortified Terrace

Hi to everyone!
Let’s continue with more accessories to widen even more the potentialities of our Forgotten Halls project.

To see all the videos dedicated to our Forgotten Halls project, and being kept updated about them, go and subscribe to our YouTube channel

Let’s start from the terrace that we did present during last article.
We did add 2 towers to this structure, connected between them with a small overhead bridge.
You can see how the stairs give a great dynamism to the whole, while the towers give a robust show of strength to the whole structure.

Braziers by Zealot Miniatures

On this other building, we modified everything making it a real sturdy fortress.
The 2 towers are still there but we took out the stairs bringing up to the terrace, and made the walls of the main building much more sturdier thanks to our “Dynamic External Walls”.
And this is just a single floor building. Imagine what you could create with a taller structure, with more floors … a unique and huge fortress.

Let’s speak about our “Dynamic External Walls”.
This simple yet elegant MHW idea allows to create endless potentialities for your building creations, without needing to invest a lot of money to buy hundreds of different walls, which then take also a lot of place when you need to stock them around.
With our solution, with just the Walls of our Base Set, you can add any kind of our Dynamic External Walls to create a various number of different walls of your liking.

We’re just scratching the surface here of the possibilities, since you can combine the main Dynamic Walls (inside the walls) with the External ones to create wonderful results, giving depth and details, in different ways, to your structure.

Of course, our external dynamic walls are available on both format (60x56x4mm. and 100x56x4mm.).

This is just the beginning.

Update #6 – Hard Plastic -Flooring up & Zealot Miniatures!!!

Hi to all.

We’ve shown you up to now videos about walls, floors, modularity, inserts, and compatibility.

But what about getting higher ? What about adding floors for a multi-level dungeon or gaming area ?

This is where it gets even more interesting!
We’re using a specific Wall Cover (with pins) on which you can fix your walls, to go higher and higher:

You can also see a balcony, but more especially, our Upper Floors.
Our system of Upper Floors allow you to take them out very easily to be able to keep playing on the lower floors, without having to detach and unbuild all your walls and floors.
It’s playability to its finest, and we wouldn’t set up for less.
And what about the torches ? Will they be available in our Kickstarter ?
Of course!

Those are actually Zealot Miniatures torches.
This company launched a great Kickstarter and has great quality add-ons to fill any building or dungeon.
Their 3D level work is amazing, and who knows, maybe they’ll be designing the Forgotten Halls add-ons and inserts ?

The holes in our pillars/walls can be used to insert anything. Torches and columns is just the start. We have many other surprises in store.
What about indeed Steampunk, Ruins, or Post-Apocaliptic inserts ?
We have already developed them. They will be waiting for you in our Kickstarter.

Regards from Lorenzo and David.

Update #02 – Hard Plastic – The innovative modular walls of Forgotten Halls.

Hi to all.

So you’ve seen a (very small, we assure you) sneak peek of Forgotten Halls, with our last video.
The big questions will be “how does FH works ?” and “when will it be available ?”

Let’s start the with the later.
Forgotten Halls will be presented on the Kickstarter platform at the end of 2016, once all 3D bases pledges will have been sent to all our backers.
You understood right, there are just some few months to wait!

Let’s speak now about how Forgotten Hall works. There is a TON of hidden gems in our product, and most are not yet seen.
But we can start with the walls, on this video:

As you see, all of our pillars have round inserts where to connect our dynamic walls (all concepts created by MHW), where other inserts (here you see our columns but torches and much more will be seen) can be added.
From there on, it’s just a question of “flooring up” if you want to make higher walls … be it because you want them higher, or because you want to make a building with multiple floors.
These higher floors will be reachable with an innovative stair system.

Now, again, we’re barely scrapping the surface of what can be done with our walls … Just to give you an example, here is what can be done, with yet another of our ideas, the Wall Inserts, yet another innovative idea of MHW.

The Wall Inserts system

Wall Inserts are walls pieces that insert themselves into existing walls, allowing you to create completely different (and modular) walls with a simple gesture, without having to change and detach the previous existing walls which build up your whole structure.

This gives you two huge benefits:
– It is very good for your wallet: if you have 30 walls with arches, and you want also plains walls, thicker, you don’t need to buy some other 30 more walls. Just buy some wall inserts (only on FH), and you’re good to go!
– plug and play, very speedily: if you have built a big dungeon or castle interior, but want to change some of the walls, you can do it very quickly without have to tear down / detach most of your walls and pillars. Just add a wall insert and you’re done!

Our video shows only the 2 different wall inserts, with amazing results. Imagine what you could do with way more : the possibilities are endless … and they will be.

Update #1 – Hard Plastic – From 3D Bases to Forgotten Halls!

Hi to all.

Manorhouse Workshop, the creator of 3D Bases, MUP, and of his endless modular buildings and creations, is proud to present our new project: Forgotten Halls! This project started exactly a year ago, in October 2015. The first concept drawings were shown to the public on our blog here, in January 2016:

Links to Forgotten Halls original concept:

Now, some months later, with the 3D Bases production nearly over and the first deliveries already on their way, we are presenting something more than drawings (or 3D computer grafic): you will see the REAL pieces of Forgotten Halls.
Creating the real pieces and checking them first hand is a basic rule from any modeler, to check that everything works and correct/improve the concept, which allows to give a customer a final product which works not only in theory, but in practice (an approach used in all MHW’s projects, from his buildings to 3D Bases, and also the MUP).

What you will see in the following video is just the tip of the iceberg of our project.

Miniatures Reaper Miniatures. Kindly provide by Francesco Endar” Bellina

As you see, on our 3D Base Abbey base, the secret passage under the Altar did HINT at something more. This “something more” is Forgotten Halls.

Forgotten Halls is THE most advanced modular construction system existing, and will be made of hard plastic. We always had in mind a world where 3D Bases could merge and complete a modular interior & exterior building system, with the quality and attention to details for which MHW is known around the world.

The 3D Bases project is in its infancy, and will grow tenfold. Forgotten Halls will be following the same path, like brother and sister. A long series of articles (complete with pictures and videos) will show you its true potential and its unique and original technical solutions.

This is just the beginning.

3D Bases production under way!

Hi to all backers!
As promised mid-July, thanks to all of you who sent their pledge managers, the production of our bases has been started the 1st September, quite in advance on our timetable!

During August the molds and instruments necessary to the production have been created, and in the meantime, our big order for the 3D Bases material done end of July brought us the needed material (about nearly 2 tons of it!)

So here we are, already producing, and we are giving you a sneak-peak of some production results.
Those pictures were done with a phone, so no professional pictures yet, but they still show very well what will be the overall result.

We’re speaking about the future of wargaming and skirmish battlefields!

Of course, as soon as we will have a good amount of bases ready, we will start with the deliveries.

On this matter, you will all receive soon a Kickstarter survey asking for your delivery address.

We’ll keep you updated!

All the best. Lorenzo

You missed the 3D Bases Kickstarter ? You didn’t! Jump aboard, you have up to the 20th of July!

Yes. During that 7 days-period, we decided that the Stretch Goals will still be “online”. If we receive additional fundings to burst or unlock a Stretch Goal, we’ll share it with you, and all of you (with Captain and General Pledges) will have access to it and so they will be added to your package!
Another reason to keep spreading the word!

4) How can I share with you the bases and add-ons I want for my pledge?

a) The best way to do that is to fill our PLEDGE MANAGER.
We have also a YOUTUBE VIDEO showing how it works!

Once you do that, send a copy of your pledge manager to this email address:
3dbasespm@gmail.com
It is important that you send us the copy as a pdf, excel (or other spreadsheet program), attached to the email, so that we know the data is final (if you want to change your pledge later on, just send us another mail with the updated pledge manager).

b) if you don’t like our pledge manager, just contact us by mail 3dbasespm@gmail.com with the list of the bases and add-ons you want!

5) Is there a deadline to send the Pledge Managers / answer the Kickstarter Survey?

The sooner we get all Pledge Managers and info, the sooner we can start the production.
From the 21th July onwards, we will contact stragglers who didn’t send their info.
If they don’t answer for the 1st of August, we will start the production and the late-pledges will be pushed back on the backers’ queue (meaning their bases will be produced, and delivered, last).
